CEBGID, as a member of the Joint Advisory Council - CIBIOGEM/CONACYT, participated in developing the national biosafety strategy of Mexico along with the Scientific Advisory Council - CIBIOGEM/CONACYT and members of the involved federal entities.
A national biosafety strategy is essential to provide guiding principles for the subsequent development and implementation of a biosafety legal framework, and mechanisms for policy coordination across government entities. Policies and laws should be dynamic and flexible to allow for the integration of outcomes and obligations from ongoing national and international dialogues.
